Iraq
has
announced
the
capture
of
a
senior
member
of
an
armed
group,
hours
after
a
car
bomb
struck
near
the
offices
of
interim
Prime
Minister
Iyad
Allawi.
The
seizure
of
Abu
Umar
al-Kurdi,
alleged
to
be
a
senior
aide
to
Abu
Musab
Al-Zarqawi,
purported
leader
of
the
al-Qaida
Group
in
the
Land
of
Two
Rivers,
appeared
to
be
a
major
breakthrough
for
the
authorities
before
next
Sunday's

known
as
Sami
Muhammea
al-Jafi
and
accused
of
masterminding
some
of
the
worst
car
bombings
in
Iraq,

seized
in

raid
