Terrorists plan major strike in Kashmir this summer Date: 7/5/2006 Some three hundred terrorists based in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir are planning major strikes in the Kashmir Valley this summer to scare tourists, force the Kashmiris to regularly pay the levy, and obey their diktats. For the past year, Kashmiris are not paying any levy to terrorist organisations, and the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) is upset with losing control over its cadres and people defying its order. The terrorist cadres who are planning to cross over to the Indian side mainly are from the Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad, and the Hizbul Mujahideen. The Indian Army has been intercepting communications originating from across the border which suggest an attempt to infiltrate the Indian side, strike terror, and create chaos and fear. The Hizbul which is now out of the talks with the Centre is trying to assert its residual terrorist usefulness to send a signal that it cannot be ignored by the Indian government. |
