The decree was issued on behalf of the Idar-e-Sharia Darul Kaza Islamic court in Uttar Pradesh state by its religious head in Lucknow. “Death is the only penalty for the cartoonists who had drawn sacrilegious cartoons of the Prophet (PBUH),” Maulana Mufti Abul Irfan, the religious head of the court, said on Monday. The court’s ruling is binding on Muslims, but can be challenged under Indian law. Irfan said it was clearly written in the holy Quran, that anyone who insulted the prophet deserved to be punished. He said the fatwa was applicable wherever Muslims live. Jaffaryab Zilany, a member of the authoritative national body of Muslim clerics, the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board, said however that although the fatwa was legitimate under Islamic law, it had no legal binding in India. Shell confirms new Nigerian militant attacks LAGOS, Feb 20 (Reuters) - A Royal Dutch Shell oil pipeline was destroyed and a houseboat sunk in Nigeria in fresh attacks on Monday, the company said, confirming an earlier statement by militants.Shell said oil production in the area had already been shut following a string of attacks on Saturday, including the bombing of its Forcados crude oil loading platform, which cut supplies from the world's eighth largest exporter by a fifth.2-19-2006 Terror shipment seized in Ashdod Defense sources revealed Sunday that thirty-one containers of goods worth thousands of dollars used to fund Hamas and Islamic Jihad activities were seized by customs authorities and security forces at the Ashdod sea port on Thursday. The company, owned by Khan Younis businessman Faiz Abu Akka - who purchased the goods from abroad, was outlawed by Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz. Mofaz signed the seizure order on November 1 last year, after the company was discovered to have ties to terror organizations. Details released by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) on Sunday, revealed that a probe launched by the Shin Bet, Israel Police and customs officials found that Abu Akka's company violated the order and continued operating despite Mofaz's ruling. According to the Shin Bet, over a period of years, Abu Akka transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of goods to Islamic Jihad and Hamas operatives to finance their terror activities. Using his business as a front, Abu Akka ordered goods from suppliers abroad. Those suppliers were paid directly by Hamas and Islamic Jihad headquarters abroad. The goods were then sent to Gaza where, after deducting costs and a percentage for his troubles, Abu Akka would then transfer the funds to the terror groups. By utilizing Abu Akka, Hamas and Islamic Jihad operatives were able to evade detection of the transferring of funds to bank accounts in the territories. On November 13 last year, the Shin Bet revealed that security officials had seized containers at the Ashdod port that belonged to Abu Akka that were used to fund terror activities. Abu Akka and a number of other suspects were arrested by security officials shortly after the raid.

February 15, 2006: DNA analysis of the bodies
recovered from the attack on an al Qaeda meeting
in Pakistan last month, have confirmed that the
main target, al Qaeda number two leader Ayman al
Zawahiri, was not there. In the immediate
aftermath of the attack, it was apparent that al
Zawahiri was late arriving at the dinner
meeting. However, the DNA tests did show that at
least five foreigners were present. One of them
was a close relative of Ayman al Zawahri, while
a second was bomb building expert Midhat Mursi,
who, like al Zawahri (who has $25 million reward
on him), had a $5 million reward on his head.
Another of the dead foreigners was Abdul Rehman
al-Misri al-Maghribi, a son-in-law of Zawahiri
